Godzilla Resurgence  is an upcoming Japanese science fiction kaiju film featuring Godzilla, produced and distributed by Toho. It is the 31st film in the Godzilla franchise and the 29th Godzilla film produced by Toho. It is Toho's first Godzilla film in 12 years since Godzilla: Final Wars (2004) and is intended to be Toho's own reboot of the franchise. The film is co-directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi with the screenplay written by Anno and the special effects directed by Higuchi.
